MONTBRETIA SCHOOL is named after a reddish-orange flower which is found in the island – continent of AUSTRALIA, IRELAND, AFRICA and elsewhere. It is found on road side, along cliff tops, woodland edges and on waste ground where garden plants are discarded. Yet, it is highly appealing and beautiful, it is planted in spring, the queen of seasons.

The school was established by a British lady in 1973 with a single room and a small garden with a well. The school was almost in a state of shut down when it came into the hands of our visionary and farsighted Principal (Mr. SWAPAN KUMAR GUHA) in 1983, when the school got oxygen to re-start. Since then, with his endeavor and guidance, and the "life and death" struggle of the teachers, today the school stands amidst of the locality with a thriving population of students, from grass root level to mediocre families. In its true sense, the school is serving the nation by preparing dutiful and committed citizens of the country.
